Now that is REALLY dangerous. One of my work colleagues in UK used to do it and survived and is still into Motor cycling! Though he does not race.
i once saw car racing in the Isle Of Man in the late 40's.Prince Bira was one of the drivers. His full name was Prince Birabangse Bhande Bhanubandh of Siam (now Thailand). Fancy filling in forms with a name like that?

I can't remember whether the Nat. Motor Bike Museum near Birmingham Airport has one of those Raleighs, though they certainly do include 3 wheelers I have seen BSAs there and I think there was a very early Reliant van.

I nearly bought a BSA 3 wheeler. It seemed to have more going for it than almost any other trike for the price. At the time it was nigh on impossible to get spare parts for them so I was put off; the steering in particular would wear badly.

The question of safety didn't really come into it as these trikes had an oil filled clutch; prone to leak onto the solitary inboard brake drum.
Shocked

850cc Reliant engine fitted to my Austin 7 special. It's been running reliably for some 20 years.

Hello Pigtin. Any chance of some more photos of your A7 special?

Not quite worked out how to post them direct but will try to sort it in the next couple of days.

No problem. I always go to the "Postimage" site and follow their instructions.

My photos are all on my computer in the photos section. I "drag" the photo I want to the side of what I think they call the "desk top". From there I drag it to the "choose images" box on the 'Postimage" page.

A new page appears and I select "hotline for forums" by clicking on the far right box. A "copied" notice then comes up.

The next thing is to go to the reply box on this site. Click "Edit" at the top of your computer screen and a menu will drop down. click on "paste" and the photo will appear in the reply box along with any message you type.

Hope this is of help. I have an 'Apple' device ... It may be all different for you!

In which case I apologise. Embarassed

I have a photo of Pigtin although I confess to defacing it by adding a different driver.
