I agree with the comment that it might not be a great sales success. Certainly the price would have had to reflect a more "down market" image. If it were priced to sell and just as well equipped then I am sure it would have found customers.
The original sheerline was, in my opinion, a heavy handed design. The car itself, however, was beautifully finished and quintessentially British.
When I was a youngster, we would take a family holiday in Bude. I remember a Sheerline had been parked/abandoned in the corner of a car park. It was there for a couple of years; gradually deteriorating. I was drawn to the car and felt sad that it had no future. |
