Hello again... I'm looking for a classic to get ready for late spring or the summer.... I don't do many miles so 'thirst' doesn't really come into it... But I like the unusual, the rarer the better, now as my user name says, I'm an old crip, if anyone's offended, tough. I am so I can say it, i'm only describing me*

*other types of old crips are available, please use old crips responsibly.

Anyhow, back to the post... I like originality on classics, where upgrades, can't be seen easily, for example, better brakes, power steering etc, fantastic.... I really don't like wide alloys, modern seats, and my big bugbear when some idiot sells off the original plate.....I can spot em a mile off.

I know many folk have bought their cars unknowing this, but yes, the car is more important, I totally get it......

Here's the problem...I've spotted a very rare motor, I would really like, careworn, never win prizes, but very honest, but the vendor has flogged the number off.... Useable now and improve, solid, but needs minor welding, which I would have to farm out, the days of me getting under cars is over due to spine and neck damage but I can do maintenance.

On the other side of the coin, car number two.....original plate, same make and model, again running and driving, it's a grand more but it's like a colander underneath when it went up on the ramp, the garage said about ?1500 to self it up properly, but it's got the original plate.....

I don't know if I could live with a Re-Reg, or am I just being a Cock???

I wish the DVLA would make all numbers non transferable!!

Anyone else had this dilemma?

Cheers
