I am pretty sure this has not been asked before.

I am fitting twin filament Halogen headlamp bulbs but have been stumped by not knowing which filament operates dipped beam and which is the main beam.

The bayonet bulbs (and holder) have equal height posts so could go in either way round

I would prefer to know in advance if the longest filament is the main beam - as I suspect - or I will be kept in the dark....
(sorry). Embarassed

Erm, suck it & see? {Not literally, of course...I would never recommend sucking bulbs, or live wires, or PP3 batteries.]

That is what I have done. I now have low and high beams pointing in the right direction.

Getting the rubber seal over the edge of the reflector and onto the bucket was a job requiring three hands... but I managed it with just two!

As the youth of today might say: "it's 'cos I is a legend, innit." Razz
