Off to Dorchester this afternoon to see the convoy of wartime trucks and tanks arrive after a run from Bovingdon Tank Museum
We haven't been down to see it all come in before but a quick look on YouTube shows previous years and my word what a line up they get down there. Unfortunately, this is apparently the last year of it taking place...
Probably another event being clamped down on by insurance and red tape... _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Well we did go down to Dorchester yesterday afternoon. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine, the streets were packed with people and then the convoy came in about 3.45.
I can tell you the rumble and ground shake coming from the first 3 or 4 Sherman tanks was amazing.
It was a lovely afternoon and they closed the roads for it for the vehicles to stop so you could mingle. That was brilliant, not sure I'd want my Commer scraped by passing bikes and pushchairs and then kids clambering over literally everything...
We chatted to a lot of people there with vehicles...my only concern is my son is now obsessed with us getting something tracked.. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Already a week has gone by and the Boy is still pestering me...he's very keen on a Bren Gun Carrier....
His idea, sell everything we currently have in order to raise funds... _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I always fancied an M3 half track. Would look good in Asda car park. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

We were told it was the last year of this event but it's now been announced that they will be having another one in 2026. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
