I couldn't help think that Ford must be getting desperate when I saw they were trying to cash in on the "Capri" name to sell their new electric car. The electric Ford Capri ...I ask you.

Who do they think they are kidding? Razz

I get it when the new vehicle is a similar style to its predecessor, Renault have done it with the 5, Honda with the Prelude, Vauxhall?s Frontera is about to return, Morris did it decades ago with the Minor after a 10 year hiatus, but Fords Capri, originally a sports coupe, now an SUV is a bit odd?

I suppose that the majority demographic the new Capri is targeted at won?t remember the original, the name Capri however might impress their grandparents!

I am sure you are right!!

The irony, surely, is that fast Fords (and presumably that includes some Capri models) are attracting eye watering prices now. I remember when a bright red 3 lire Ford Capri turned up at my Dad's garage....in those days it was a sensation, especially when we were brought up on a diet of Anglias and Prefects!

Let us hope that 2025 brings success to those who deserve it.

Happy new year. Very Happy

I must admit I thought the TV advert was entertaining merging the old and new...

It's just the same story as the Mustang, but with another of their old names. Won't be long before there's a Cortina, Granada, whatever, all bearing no relation to any previous car of that name.
