I've never seen one with this body style before and I think it certainly suits it. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

| What a charming little drop head. I bet restoring that car was a labour of love. |

I too saw it on Shed and Buried. (In fact, it's appearance on the programme was mentioned in the Ebay ad.).
I only caught the tail end of the programme. Apparently they only paid 8,000 for it!
I have set it to record the whole programme this evening. |

I wonder if the above motorcar is the same LanchesterDropehad [LD10?] used inthe film, ''The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare?''

I would say almost definitely. Fog lamp; wing mirrors; same colours. The only difference I can see is the hub caps have been chromed... but other wheel embellishments are the same. Also Abbot bodied 10 HP Lanchester coupes are vanishingly rare; always were.
Having seen the Lanchester 10 in a complete episode of Shed and Buried I can confirm that it is the same car.
Incidentally, the guy who Henry Cole purchased it it from has a large collection of old vehicles which he hires out for films. |

I didn't see the part where they sold it though so not sure on what they got for it? _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

We were never shown that bit. They had their resident dealer "Chopper Roy" have a look at it. he said it was a bargain at 8K
and they should get upwards of 10K. "The sky's the limit" he said.
I can't help being a bit cynical - if not downright skeptical - about the whole thing. Being a TV entertainment programme I would not be surprised
if the "sale" was just a ruse. Money may well have changed hands but the car was in a collection of vehicles used in TV and film, so it is feasible
that it was simply hired out for the Shed and Buried programme; although I don't doubt that they got it running...although, there again,
I don't think the starter motor really needed to come off the car; it was all part of the show.
I still enjoy watching though!
