I cannot fault the asking price and for anyone with the space (they are big cars) this, I imagine, would make a fascinating and rewarding project.

Of course the price is not as stated. This lovely old car was sold at Bonhams in September 2024 for 26, 450 and the market has fallen since then... but not by that much!!

If he wants to 'just' recover his auction costs and storage then he knows how much he wants - he should be open and put a firm price on it.
I could be interested in that, but I'm not going to get into a 'How much do you want' discussion - there are plenty of other cars out there with published prices that I know what I am getting into.

I often see prewar cars for sale without an air cleaner or air silencer fitted, like this Lagonda.
Surely they were not sold new without?
Driving on a dusty unpaved road should be very scary when the intakes are free of scooping up fine sand.

I am wondering about the dashboard. What are all those dials for?

I don't think I have ever seen a British car built before the mid-1930s with an air cleaner, with the exception of cars exported to territories like South Africa and Australia.

Ray, the instruments are, from left to right, time-of-day clock, speedo, ammeter, rev-counter, petrol gauge, water temperature, oil pressure and oil temperature. I'm not sure what is missing from the hole top left.

What a magnificent car, hopefully it'll fall into appreciative hands.

I would like go for it myself. I would not try to restore it ...rather conserve what is there.

Here is more from the Bonhams sale.

Its a superb car. Left as is with just some tinkering it would certainly turn some heads.

BTW ...the two instruments one above the other to the far right I believe are for suspension. One has FRONT and the other REAR and they are by "Andre".

I think the missing gauge to the upper left of the speedo might be petrol.

Incidentally, it is pretty rare ...with just 12 pillarless saloons known to exist.

I notice in the advert that the seller states..

'I am simply looking to recover the auction price plus the storage costs incurred since then'

In my opinion, the seller should not expect to get much more than 20 K in today's market.
