Here at “Airstreameurope” we have decided to keep you informed of our retro activities and Airstream news in Europe with our retro active news letter!

You will be pleased to know that this season, Belrepayre Airstream & Retro Camping was a great success, 9 European Airstream owners and many other interesting retro caravans and vehicles visited.

New edition to Belrepayre Airstream & Retro Camping: “petit London”.
The double-decker bus has been painted red and has now a London taxi cab and an original English phone box to keep it company. Come with your milk float!

There is a new Airstream map on the net where you can put a little flag where your Airstream is in the world, it’s a must, so get on it, let see how many we are in Europe. It’s easy to use, first you must joined the forum at this address http://www.airstreamforums.com/forums/?referrerid=6

Airstream news.

We are all awaiting the information about the new European Airstream; it will be launch next year apparently in February.

Recently I had the opportunity to have a close up look at the new 2005 safari, mwell ... there are +&- for me!

Recently a man found an old Airstream 1967 in a back garden near Bordeaux, it was completely grown in. The man used to stop and ask the owner, an old lady, every year if she would sell it, no never she cried, but after 14 years of asking, one day he went there and she said yes. He paid 600€ to the old lady and dragged the Airstream home where he is now completely rebuilding it from the chassis. I will have photos soon.

Airstreams have been in and out of the press as you all know and there have been lots of interest in the past year. Most of them are to do with promotion purpose for various companies etc... But our interest here at Airstreameurope is the fun and adventure of owning an Airstream caravan on the road. “It’s better to ware out than rust out”

Retro events 2006

The European Airstream meeting will be held here at Belrepayre Airstream & Retro Camping on the 4th 5th & 6th of AUG 2006, we have moved it to August this year as it seems to be a better time for most Airstreamers, hope this is a good time for you? Lots of fun things going on this year for the meeting, see you there!!!

Airstream rally 2006
This year we will be doing a south of France- south of Spain rally
Depart Belrepayre 8th October – return 22nd October, please see site for more info.

Vintage caravan weekend will be held at Belrepayre Airstream & Retro Camping.
Dates to be arranged. Your chance to bring your vintage caravan and meet other vintage caravaners.
Caravans from the RCCF (retro caravans club de France) will be there and we will be showing films & slides of vintage caravans + BBQ, if you don’t own a vintage caravan but would like to come to the meeting, you can always hire an Airstream in the camping. Please see site for more info on the meeting.

Painting courses
Come and have a wonderful week painting the scenery or even an Airstream. From the 9th to the 16th of September, please see more details www.belrepayre.com (look for the holiday activity page.)

Clown work shop
Yes here at Airstream Europe we’re up to all sorts .
Clown workshop the 31st of May, 1st and 2sd of June, 3 days with Perry & Coreo.
Not much to do with retro, but laughing seems to be a thing of the past theses day!

New stuff
There is a nice book out from Airstream, I have just read it and found it very good as it tells you the story of Wally Byam life, some thing you don’t find in the other books on Airstreams.

Handy hint of the day
A winter hint
A little cup of anti freeze in the sink and shower out let so it goes in the U bend and a little in the WC, stops any damage if it gets very cold if your Airstream is outside

Notice it has been a while since you posted on here - I now have a category specifically for older caravans, so if you have any airstream photographs, it would be great to see them in the classic caravans section!!!
