No, I used to be the mechanic for my mate that used to do class 1 (standard minis) while we were at school. He is the one doing motorsport at uni, but he does ocasionally when his dads car is running use that, he has a twin fireblade engined class 10 buggy, 0-60 in under 3-4 seconds.

He has a grass track mini still I think with a race prepared engine, you should have a go! I have never raced it, and wouldn't mind a go, both in the mini and buggy!

May be able to get you a go, if it is still raceable! I will have to ask him!

What a great film of Jim Clark at Crystal Palace, showing just why he was the greatest race driver ever. Was that Jack Sears at the wheel of the Galaxie? And didn't Graham Hill race there a few years earlier with the Speedwell A35, beating Mark 1 Jags and the like. Now THAT would be a car to re-create, I wonder if it could still be done Very Happy

alfanut, did you get to Goodwood's Revival last year? if not, an A35 very nearly beat a Mk1 Jaguar in the 2 part St Mary's Trophy, if the track had stayed a bit wetter it'd have won overall I think.

Speedwell A35:
