Received this today, someone looking for an automobilia collection to do some photography work with .. anyway this is the message:
Hi this is Zoe from Intersection Magazine, I wonder if
you could please help me...
we are planning a shoot for our fashion collections
for the next Spring issue of the magazine and we
are looking to find people who have collected interesting, beautifully
presented automobilia to provide a fascinating back
drop for the fashion shoot.
We need to find at least 12 different collectors
with a wide range of collections from hub caps
to magazines to spirits of ecstasy etc all very nicely
preserved and presented
Ideally these collections need to be based in
and around London.
please could you let me know if you have anyone
you could advise me to contact
kindest regards

Hi
That is the same edition that my mini clubman estate is in as an extra for a report on a band they were featuring.
Cheers

Second posting with clickable picture to enlarge
As requested a pic of my garage wall.
The back end of the car on the left is a wooden painting that I recovered from a theatre skip after a production of Bugsy Malone.
Above and round it are US plates - one from every State. To the right are plates from some of the cars I have owned over the years. Plus a few foreign plates that friends have bought back for me. |

Wow, looks like a good collection. Is that a radiator I see in the garage? if so it can't be bad!

Central heating, television, sound system, coffee machine - doesn't everyone's garage have these creature comforts?
I know its sad, but I do spend a lot of time in my garage! |

Top garage Brian!!
I've got as far as a creaky old hi-fi in the garage, and did once have some carpet til it struck me that using an angle grinder above it could set it alight (it was a very old carpet!). I must try and get my garage floor painted this year, keep the dust down a bit

Some help maybe. part of my garage had been extended and in places the top has worn off so there is the proverbial concrete dust etc. Is there any sort of preperations that can be applied to concrete floors before painting that anyone knows of (uk based) ?
I went into the local builders merchants and told them what i wanted nd they all looked blankly and said nothing like that now in unison......
THe last i knew of leveling compounds and the such was back in the 70's but they all had V.O.C.s in them so now will be banned..
aAs I say anyone know of such preperations??

they sell self levelling compound in wickes
i did the conservatory floor with it
its a bit of a bugger to get a smooth mix so get a good strong drill and a plaster mixer to mix it (they were selling them at aldi not so long back)
on another note i got some garage floor paint about 3 years back from wickes and its doing exactly what it says on the tin-----(unfort that is sitting on the garage floor--still in the tin)--lazy i know but we re-rubber matted all the electrical compartments at work and there was loads of 10mm rubber matting thrown in the skip , so i have a rubber matted garage (and stables for that matter) which is better than paint |

Hi
I spent a few hours in the garage this morning and discovered an old bakerlite wireless that was my gandads. We got it working and believe it or not the easiest thing to find, program wise was the archers, so that is what I listened to all morning. Really olde worlde in there this morning, was strangly quite nice, bet it was used for that exact program back in the day!
Brian M, any idea when the March edition of Intersection is coming out? (I gather it will be March but was wondering if it came out mid month, before the start of the month etc!! )
Cheers

Dave
I was told mid-March, but I am going to be sent one as it is not available in many newsagents in my area.
I will post here as soon as I get it - probably with copies of "my" pics! |

Hi
Just heard the magazine is out on Friday, as there has been a delay with the printers in the US. That is for the "new spring issue" if that is the one your collection is in?
Cheers
