Ooo now that looks encouraging!

Mrs Nail and I are seriously considering emigrating to NZ, her father is there at the moment and is checking out housing availability etc for us as his sister has lived out there for 30 years or more.

He rang the other day to say that there is plenty of space with each house compared to the uk which sounds ideal...cheap classics and lots of space to keep them!

Well Mrs Nail seems quite set on it, hence the downsizing of my vehicles.
I'm sure we might have a spare room free for tin hunters. Wink

Bit of info i know about the blue fordson with the hi low mod had heard about it at a farmers clearing sale in the area.It has the standard fordson engine and has 2 gearboxes one behind the other the first is a standard one and the second is a lower ratio for hill climbing as it was used on a sheep farm.Looks in reasonable condition and at the moment selling quite cheap. The mod was done by a garage 30 years ago and worked fine they put another crossmember in to support the second gearbox and shortened the drive shaft how they coupled the 2 gearboxes together i dont know another option could be to change it to a higher ratio gearbox pretty inventive for 30 years ago.Second one that i know of that has had a sucessful mod done to it thought you might be interested.
Anyone interested in fordsons is more than welcome here by the way...rustyreks

i'd hate to try learning the quick way 'round that arrangement! and yes, it sounds very innovative and expedient to use what must have been whatever was available to do the job. well before the days of ringing up the shops and waiting for the Postman to bring it.. back here, if we try that, we're called hillbillies and laughed off the street. which is why i joined this forum... to get away from that nonsense.
