Hi All
Long time, no post. I was checking fluid levels over the weekend whilst scrawling around under the lorry, and found that in one of two circular plastic reservoirs located just in front of the fuel tank, the level was so low as to be virutally empty. It appeared to hold a clear liquid; the reservoir to the left of it (closest to the fuel tank) had a dark fluid in it. Is either one the clutch fluid reservoir and if so, which one, and, what's in the other one?!
Also, any ideas on why my fuel and temperature guage needles climb to the right and stay there once the ignition's switched on? I was told to bash the dash if they stuch (which worked a couple of times), but now they sit there quite happily and refuse to budge until the ignition's switched off again. I've no idea how much diesel I have as the guage reads off the dial! Bad earth from the fusebox possibly?
Thanks in advance

Hi I think you'll find the 2 reservoirs are both brake fluid one covers the front circuit & one covers the rear, the clutch reservoir is under the bonnet flap on the front of the cab, as for your gague problem it sounds like you have a wiring fault

| Ahhh, right! That makes sense to me now as the brakes are suddenly less effective than they were! Seems I have a leak from the front brake reservoir. I'll take a look under the bonnet for the clutch reservoir. As for the gauges - they seem to be temperamental - sometimes they're ok, sometimes (mostly now) they're not. Cheers for the input Colin |
