This may well be the most exciting thing that ever happened at Shalmsford St and cries out for some sort of snappy caption.

One does not come immediately to mind; can you help?

I cannot claim to have come up with this, as someone suggested it for the caption comp I have on the main site, but ..

"Bloody Sat Nav"

gets my vote for both piccies

Very Happy

"Bloody Sat Nav"; I like it.
I have a whole bunch of caption photos I collected when I edited a club magazine. The members either could not read, or had no sense of humour because there wasn't a single reply and I dropped it after the first edition. I have not discounted the possibility that they may have been crap, but I liked them.
I will post a couple if ever I find out where your caption competition is on this website, and you can be the judge.
Don.

If anyone has a copy of "Motor Racing. The golden age" they will have an unlimited source of materials. It is full of photos that ,I imagine, have not been published in the media for fairly obvious reasons and they have resisted the urge to put other than a bare description to accompany them.

Here is my favourite example; This photo is described as: Jack Brabham, Jayne Mansfield and Charles Cooper at Riverside, California, 1960.
It seems to have a very unfortunate camera angle.

It has to be: Jayne, was not quite sure what a "Grand Prix" champion was; but she certainly liked the sound of it.

Ghastly luck! They were probably the only two cars within a ten-mile radius, and one of them had to have bald tyres.

That looks like a great old postcard - can just imagine being launched out of the comfy seats with any impact, very unpleasant!

I've got that motor racing book you mention - some ace pics in there, probably be copyright on the pics though so can't put them online unfort.

cheers, Rick
