We have an East German caravan called a "QEK" (pronounced "KEK"). It is fibreglass bodied (rigid, not folding) on a steel chassis. The beauty of it is that it's very light - similar to the Portafold and we use it for classic shows, towing it behind my Ford Anglia 123E Super (1198 cc).
Ours is about ten feet long and called the QEK Junior but there are larger models as well.
The only others I've seen in the UK have been towed by continental cars (one during Beaulieu autojumble weekend a couple of years ago near Brockenhurst and another on the road from Warminster to Bath last August).
I'll try to post a pic when I find out how!
Anyone else got one or know of one?
Andrew

Hi, As a newbie to this site (specifically because of your post), I can say that I have a QEK jr, which since 1996 has been parked in my garage. I used it to tour Denmark many times. I used to drive a Golf 1300, and was able to travel at considerable speed with my QEKy, never even noticed that it was behind me. It does now need a bit of work doing to it. I had considered selling my QEKy, but after reviewing a German site specifically for these vehicles, now hope to tackle the repairs in the next year or two. I just love it.
I hope you have as much fun with yours as we do/did with ours.
Best wishes

Thanks for your reply Jarnsaxxa. We still have the Qek - last used for trip to New Forest to visit Beaulieu autojumble Sept 2013. They are so useful and easy/light to tow. We have towed ours with a 1200 Anglia, 1500 Avenger and Rover 220 Sli. Good luck with the restoration.
