I wonder if its just me reminiscing or something, but are there any others out there that watch old films and TV programmes just to see the cars of that period in their original condition?
I wonder what happened to some of them? I do know where THX138 is though!!

Rick, with that possibly being the best known car in films, I would have suggested an automatic ban for forum members who didnt know what it was!
Only last night, I caught a Roger Moore film, shot in Siciliy, where I think he was in a Dodge (or very similar) bus...
I'm beginning to wonder if the programme producers have started to add classics to their programmes to get more male viewers? i'm thinking about things like Morse, Inspector Lynley, Kingdom, Country Hospital and of course Heartbeat. All we ever see here is Volvos!

Never watched AG? What about Christine, Vanishing Point (several versions), Two lane Blacktop, On Any Sunday to name but a few?
And if you 've never been to Douglas and watched 'No Limit'.... where have you been hiding?
I hope that your education is not THAT lacking or someday, I'm going to have to have a long talk with you......

No limits is brilliant! 'turned out nice again!"
On any Sunday should be more readily available, it's many years since I've seen it, as for old cars in the background of films how about the league of gentlemen, it's full of 'em - and it was in colour! |

I love American Graffiti!
You lots of replica wee-wee yellow '32's at the rod shows. |

I won't even mention the Swiftmobile (vintage Bentley with outrageous bodykit)that Dennis Price sold Ian Carmichael in 'The School for Scoundrels'
Don't forget those continental films of the 50s and 60s, always shot in black and white. In 'La Dolce Vita' (1960) Marcello Mastroianni drives a Triumph TR 3A and one of the female characters a Cadillac convertible, surely the one and only time that either of those cars was the ultimate in cool

Should we start a list? Maybe even categories for era's, racing, etc.
A few of my favorites are:
"The Hot Spot"........Studebaker Hawk
"Spin Out"...............Shelby Cobra, Dusenberg, McLaren Elva M1A, and many more.
"Mischief"..............'50 Studebaker Champion, '55 Chevy Convertible, & more.
"Hollywood Knights"............Lots of hot rods!
"The Lively Set"...........Rods, racing, and the Chrysler Turbine car.
"To Please A Lady"........Midget, Big Car, & Indy racing and others.
Think I'll start working on a list in my spare time. |

Interesting website, but it does take the fun out of things....
After admittedly only a quick glance, I didnt see the Lincoln in 'Fish called Wanda' though, or even Cannons Lincoln, so I guess even that site is not complete....I wonder if anyone else can think of similar examples that are missing?
