Hi there!
I am looking at buying several parts. But are you breaking any of the following cars (top of list is priority for me, but all others I also need parts for)
Jaguar XK150S
Jaguar XK150
Jaguar XK120
Jaguar XK140
Jaguar Mark 1
Jaguar Mark 2
Jaguar Mark 3
Jaguar Mark 4
Jaguar Mark 5
Jaguar Mark 6

If you are please reply with your phone number and who I should contact so I can call to organise purchase of the parts.

The reason being is I am looking for some original Lucas 6Volt batteries.

Here is a list of Lucas part numbers that I have put together for batteries that would probably work for me as they are all listed in various catalogs as having been the "correct" battery at one point or another for my car (Jag XK 150).
F-11G (4022200),
STG11E
SG11E (24023117)
STGZ11E (24014207)
CA11/9E
CAZ11/9E

IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS THESE, MIGHT HAVE THEM, RESTORERS BATTERIES, SELLS OLD BATTERIES FOR CLASSIC CARS, please reply and let me know. I am searching all over the world on this one.

best, Alex

Alex

I have used Lincon Batteries for years for all my classic batteries.

I think that if you find a perfect Lucas casing they will rebuild it with new plates.

Well worth contacting - they are based in Essex UK.

Forgive the philistine in me but why do you need the "classic" batteries apart from show that is ?

I'm going with the biggest battery I can shoe horn into the jag when it comes to that point in the restoration....... but then I'm not going to do the concours shows.

For once, and I'm not going to make a habit of this, Very Happy I have to agree with cc's comments. I dont really see the point of fitting a Lucas battery, even for shows! Fit the biggest, most powerful battery you can get on the car!

Even now, its very rare to fit a car with an original battery when its changed. Back then, people used to fit something like an 'Oldham' battery, simply because they were more reliable than the Lucas ones! So why should anyone worry about that nowadays? If concours judges dont like it, they can lump it. Classic cars are to be used, not looked at!

That's it in a nut shell for me and one way ( I hasten to add the 1 ) way I get under the skins of some on the jag list I frequent because i am not into the concours / as it come from the factory stable.

For me I can't see the point of keeping inadequate drum brakes or say no indicators or no rear lights on a car if it can be upgraded with original parts all be it from a later model etc. which would enable me to drive the car safer every day rather than risk it only in bright sunny weather going to the shows.

Besides, mine is going to have a street bass music system, sat nav, air con
quality lights so I need a big battery anyway..... right wheres them garage keys?????
