I’m in Heatherton, South East of Melbourne in Australia. Have been kicking around here since 1950, primarily interested in electronics and railways. Worked as a radio communications technician for Telstra.
The primary focus now that I’m no longer paid for my work is the Morris J type van.
It all started around about early to mid 1950s when someone came to our house with one of these vans. I climbed into it at floor level, and for some reason the experience stuck in my mind. Now I have two vans. One should be on the road late 2007, the other is a longer term project requiring chassis repair and body restoration. Both vans are early ones. Possibly late forties or early fifties and having the side valve engine, however I have no intention, at this stage, of using these engines.
