A question I can't seem to get answered on the DVLA or VOSA sites.
What are the rules and date limits (if any) on MOTing a 1912 registered car? |

Hi
The general rule is that the car should only be tested to a standard relating to when it was made, more specifically if it is pre 1931 virtually anything passes! there are many regulations that have been brought in that pre 1931 cars don't have to adhear too.
You will have no problem getting it through a test as long as it works as it did in 1912
You can post specific MOT questions to testers on this forum;

That's great info.
The tster is a good friend but I realise that his MOT ticket is his livelihood and I am not prepared to do anything that would risk it.
Considering an 1900s car's brakes were often wooden shoes pressed against the solid rubber tyre mine are positively modern! |
