Seemed like a good idea for a thread, prompted by this email I received the other day, about a collection in N.Ireland:

-----

I have really enjoyed going through your web site. I thought that you may be interested in hearing about an interesting Classic car collection that has recently opened to the public in aid of CANCER RESEARCH.

The Abingdon Collection is based outside Omagh in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland and contains a small but interesting collection of cars ; motorbikes ; signs ; models; jukeboxes and memorabilia from the 50's and 60's.

The collection includes MGs, Porsche, Opel Manta, BMW, Harley Davidson and Triumph all on permanent display and all housed in an old style garage setting surrounded by things we remember from our youth..... Chopper bikes; old radios , Dinkys etc.

The collection is further complemented by one of the largest private World War Two exhibitions in the country with over 3000 items on display. The collection is open by appointment only but we try to be as flexible as possible especially to visiting Classic Car Groups.

I can be contacted on 02882243373. The response so far has been excellent with a very good return to the charity.

Thanks.
Philip Faithfull.
The Abingdon Collection.

Hi Rick,
thought i would add to this thread, having just got back from Cornwall where we came across a fine collection. Well worth a visit if you are down that way, i reckon it will be one to watch as the collection seems to be growing rapidly.
There is a fine collection of cars, tractors, commercials, motorbikes and memorabilia. The web address is :

Coventry, Gaydon, Skopas Mills Motor Museum in Batley, bubble car/micro car museum at Cranwell, Lincs, Beaulieu. Found at leaflet at Gaydon for Atwell-Wilson motor museum at Calne in Wiltshire.

If you want to include outside UK then I have visited the Schulmpf collection in Mullhouse, France and the one at Loheac also France. Both are excellent.
