They don't come along too frequently for me these days but
today was indeed a good day. You know like one of those days
where nothing goes wrong, when all nuts and bolts come out
clean, when photographs and writing notes all come together,
when tempers are not frayed, skin is not lost, no resorting
to hammer spanners and there are copious cups of tea from
the missus.
Well today has been one of those days. Got all the wiring
disconnected in the engine bay, the exhaust and manifolds
off, and started on stripping out the brakes. The osf door
hinges came off ok and I even got the carbs off before the
light faded. It doesn't seem much for about 6 hours graft
but all on my own spanners take juggling when you are trying
to loosen screws that are nearly 50 years old....
.....Tomorrow is another day........ |

Well, its another day CC - so wave goodbye to that skin on your knuckles!
Joking aside, that sound's like the perfect day, and I'm sure we'd all like to have those every so often. I still remember removing the front bumper off my Chevy ...... a week of evenings with a grinder, chisel, hacksaw and a packet of Elastoplasts. What a bugger of a job, not one single bolt came out without a huge amount of work, cursing & swearing!
Fingers crossed for you today.
Scotty. |

Hi
I only wish I could have days as good as that!
I always set nice little targets, but they never seem to get finished, maybe I set the targets too high, maybe that is a good thing?
Cheers

When I was a manic depressive I used to set myself up to fail. Like deciding to run a marathon without any training or restore a car without tools ... climb Everest in a T shirt type of thing. Of course I'd fail and the depression sets in.
Now I set small incremental targets that are achievable and things seem a lot better.

Interesting! I have long had the theory that proper nuts and bolts, you know those that suit spanners marked Whitworth or BSF, and were made by machining bits of steel dismantle much better than the newfangled stuff made by thread rolling.
Any thoughts?? |

Hi
Possibly because alot of the new stuff tend to be monkey metal?
Cheers
