Sitting in a traffic jam in the Volvo last week, a mechanic came out of the garage I was passing, tapped on the window and asked me if I had any contacts in the classic car world. I said I had a few, so he invited me into his garage that was closing down.

In his stores he had loads of classic electrical parts that would go in a skip at the end of this week unless he found someone to move them, sell them on and give him a large drink from the proceeds.

Well I now have a garage full of starter motors, alternators, plug leads, lights, and another trailer load to collect today.

They are mostly from the 60's and 70's so I need to start cataloging the lot and will post lists on here as I work my way through them to give members the first chance before they start going on ebay.

If I spot items for cars that I know members on here have, I will PM them first to see if they are interested.

Never happened to me before so I am feeling pretty lucky that I was in the right place, in the right car, at the right time!
