Received this email thru the other day, I assume its genuine:

N O T I C E
The car below was stolen November 20 2007 - If you see a car like this or
suspect that you have received it for work, immediately call KENSINGTON POLICE on
020 8246 9256 regarding crime reference number 562-45-8207.
Make: Morris Minor, soft top convertible, split windscreen
Colour: Black with thin red racing stripe, beige fabric roof.
Year: 1956
Vehicle ID number: FCA114092008
Original Registration: ESJ 447
Distinguishing marks: small dent below headlamp, driver’s side; decal on rear
window `Canterbury Convertibles’; broken latch on back seat opening to boot.

this update from the owner of the Moggy:

"... the Metropolitan Police are perfectly nice but made pretty clear that the only way my car will be found is if it is parked somewhere it gets parking tickets or gets towed - ! They also said it was more likely it
had been stolen-to-order which means someone will want to paint it and have
work done on it, so the more classic car folks who are aware of it the better.

Thank you again so very much, i can't tell you how upsetting it is - i loved
that car, it has tremendous sentimental value to me."

If anyone is in a Minor club perhaps they could mention it to other members?
