You need a suggestions area.
quick reply box maybe.
star rating wich has names like newbie, getting there and old timer.
Another Admin and some mods
More members needed
Instant sign up but have to give name and fill in an anti bot registration key.

More admins mods allow spamers to be blocked whilst still allowing instant regestration.

Good forum though.

Thanks for the advice.

Due to a recent technical hitch, all logins had to be re-created. I'm roughly 1/10th there, and the mods will be re-instated shortly. There won't be another admin though. More members? more is always nice so long as things remain civilised. We were well over 500 when things went belly up and I had to start again from scratch a few days ago. No instant signups - too much trouble with spam last time. Slow n steady will do.

Glad you like it.

Hi

I second the no auto signup, as it really stopped the spam when you stopped that!

It will be back to the "old days" before you know it! Very Happy

Cheers

The problem when things get too big is that often the 'noise' increases at a greater pace than the interesting posts, ie you have to wade through lots of junky irrelevant stuff to find the interesting things.

I'm happy for other forums to steam ahead and become vast, I'd prefer this one to continue as it has done for the last few years, gradually building up with a good cross-section of posters, with an emphasis on (although not restricted to) discussion about vehicles pre-1980, with a healthy number of postings about pre-war cars, which don't often feature on other forums I call in at.

Hi

I think the same, it is simmilar to car clubs, I hate big ones, with hundreds of members, I supose a forum is a type of club! hehe Alot of the clubs I have been in, have allways been tring to increase numbers, I think, don't try to hard, if you want good memebers, then let them come along at there own rate.

Cheers

Dave
