It's coming up for ten years since I started to build the Pigtin Special and was horrified to realize that she hadn't been used since 2002.
Today I removed five years worth of junk that had accumulated on top of her fitted the windscreen and started her up. only a braking test to do and I'll get her MOT'd for the new year.
Here are some new photos of her. (I have posted photos of her before so I hope I'm not being boring.)

great little car!! Smile I really like these specials, especially those with alloy bodies. I was half tempted with a 50s A7 special that had been exhumed from long-term storage in a garage, it came with all manner of old tuning bits (Cambridge alloy head, tubular manifold etc) but alas I simply couldn't fit my size 10 boots into the footwell. The floor would have needing lowering significantly for my feet to clear the steering column, so whoever built it must have been diminutive in stature Wink

I'll see if I can find a pic or two

Hi

Pictures never bore me, well some do, but they tend to be of boring things which this certainly is not!

You should have it mot'd ready to go out on boxing day or new years day or something, be a bit special then! Get it Special! hehe ok sorry about that! Very long day! Laughing

Cheers

Dave

Note my avatar Rick: that is a 50s 'Super Accessories' special, they were all made for people around 5'7". Average size for the 50s. I am only 5'10" and I was nearly crippled after a Continental trip in it.
It is not easy make A7 specials for tall people. I designed mine from the chassis up and still had to fit a smaller steering wheel in order to fit in.

The 10/4 has never been off the road since 1985. I shall probably use it over Xmas: I feel the cold these days.

Hi

I have found a way to stay warm, I was cold last year non stop.

This year I have switched the radiator off, and sit in cold lounge, then when it is time to go out put a jumper and body warmer on and I am warm, also in the car, don't use the heater unless like this morning you are battling with ice in the car.

Cheers

Dave

S*d that! Maybe when I was younger could have done it. I think it may have been around winter '62 I only had a Morris 8 without a hood as transport. A naval surplus duffel coat kept me alive...but only just.

Sweet little car!

It's funny that the term 'special' has such a different meaning when applied to people.... Laughing

Photograph of first trip; Tour of Holland (Touching faith in my workmanship) Note cheap plastic goggles, but the memsahib's tough: she can make do with sunglasses. We have a couple of Cossak hats for the winter but we look utter prats in them
