Don't know anything at all about JCB's but noticed this old JCB in a field next to a railway station at the end of the Llangollen Railway in Wales this year, first time i've seen such an old one before

Hi

Have a look at this, http://www.classic-combines.com/jcb.html I know they are models, but some information is given too!

I am not to hot on JCB's now either, I did however have a tour around the Rocester factory, which is excellent and if you ever get the chance to go, go for it!

They have some oarsome presses, and a production line like no other. They also put so much cash back into the local enviroment, parkland for locals and employees, they also look after there staff well.

They have classic machines like the one you took a pic of, in there design offices, and I seem to rember they wern't on the ground floor!???? hehe

Cheers

Dave

P.S... You say the end of the llangollen railway? Did you go on the railway? I went on the foot plate of "Union of South Africa" 60009 today whilst they were steaming up, not when they were moving, but still, a very interesting engine, the same engine bar the colour as the record breaking engine Mallard. Quite a big engine!

Did I read on his board somewhere that JCB hold the land speed record for a diesel powered vehicle?

Speaking of fastest diesel - here's a photo of the 1933 fastest diesel, looks like an armoured car!
