This came through the other day, can anyone assist, ideally in the South?

Hi,

I came across your site whilst doing research on classic/vintage
trailer parts. We are designing an eclectic shop in London which is
going to include an old car towing a trailer as part of the display.
The trailer will be used to display product, with the concept being
that the car and trailer just rolled in with a whole lot a of
interesting stuff that it picked up on it's journey.

Anyway, we are going to build the trailer (static only, will not be
rolling) and I have been searching for parts. I was wondering if you
may be able to assist me in finding a 'classic-looking' tow hitch and
ball? The commercially available ones I have been able to find are
rather shiny and cheap looking and not really what we are looking for
at all.

Thanks and regards,

Michael Stern

I'm not quite sure how long the ball hitch has been with us, but in my younger days I seem to remember a banjo and peg system being used.

the old trailers I've got have normal(ish) hitches on them, although the earlier (ie pre-war) towballs were a smaller diameter than today's
