Here's a nice HQ Holden Kingswood wagon spotted in the car park at a local show. From the number plate I'm guessing it's mid 70's.

I don't think these were exported to UK.Being a GM product, notice the shape of the doors.Remind you of something English and German?
They had a 202 ci straight six,and usually auto trans.V8's were available on upmarket versions,as were 4 speed boxes. These were horrible clunky things anyway,so were better off with the auto.
These sold in large numbers in Oz and NZ,and later were exported (South Africa?)as Chevy's.

That's different.

And as you say you can see "Opel" and "Vauxhall" styling threads in it.

Hi Poodge, that's an unusual thing to find over there. They were a 1971 item from memory, and came in sedan, station wagon, panel van, utility , a cab chassis combination called a 1 tonner and a 2 door version called the Monaro, which was a very neat looker. Their styling cues owe much to the US Pontiac's, although they were built here in Oz. The standard power plant was a 161 c.i. 6 cylinder and 3 speed synchro box and drum brakes. Most folks stepped up a little to the 202 ci and a 3 speed auto called the Trimatic. Bigger options were available, a 253 V8 and a 308 V8 ( both locally designed and built) and a 350 Chev option for the Monaro. Two 4 speeds were available, a light duty for the smaller engines and a 4speed Muncie box for the Chev engine, and of course disc brakes and a bigger heavy duty diff and handling package was also available, cheers, Col.
