Do any Dodge people out there know the answers to these question, that came over yesterday??

---------

Hello, sending out to you from Utah, USA. I found your site because I am looking for Canadian or UK owned trucks like mine. I have a civilian 1/2 ton closed cab 1941 Dodge truck which was built in Detroit, MI. I will send you some Jpeg photos when you respond.

I'm in the process of restoring this beast. I need some help from Canadian owners and UK owners. I was told and would like to verify if the following is true? That U.S. trucks had the short block flathead six motors 218 230 they measure like 22inches long. I was told the Canadian trucks and UK/Australian trucks had factory equipped long block flatheads the 251 engine that is 24 inches long. The reason why I ask is my short 218 block is gone and I have a new 251 long block that I want to put into my truck.

I am told that all the body parts are the same on US and Canadian trucks so there must be a way to fit this engine in the truck. I already moved the crossmember forward two inches and set the engine in the frame. I'm thinking the radiator mount which holds all the front fenders and grill on will then go on reverse of the way it was with the short engine? What I need to know from a Canadian owner is how are these parts installed or how did the get that longer engine in there? Are there parts I need that the US truck doesn't have??? Do I make sense?
