That is nice! It`s getting harder to find vintage cars that are complete, not butchered, and in restorable condition, on EITHER side of the pond.
I was out & about today, and at a light, up next to me pulls an original Mini Cooper. I glanced over, and saw the driver was next to me (he had a right hand drive), which is not something we see alot of here. As he pulled away I noticed his Florida tag, read BRIT OPN with a figure of a golfer in between the letters.

I guess these type of finds are getting thin on the ground gto, certainly the Uk's been mostly picked clean what with the EU rules on scrapyards and environmental 'concerns' by local councils.

I'm surprised to hear the US is suffering the same fate, I always like to think of the states as a 'cars in barns' utopia!

It's a 1952 model.

According to the guy who took the pic's the owner has had this car for over 50 years, he says it still runs and the chassis is solid but it's not for sale as falls into the category of the owner "Going to restore it someday" I'm afraid.

What makes me sad about this is the fact that this car will probably never get restored. I've heard this ''I'll restore it someday'' to often to know that it will never get done...

50 years should be enough time to get any project started, and completed.

It reminds me of a guy local to me. He's a pensioner now, and in his rather large garage is every motorcycle he has ever owned since he started to ride. Everyone is a classic! There are things to make you drool, Goldies, Bonnies, Rocket Goldies, even two Vincents. Last time I was there, I counted up to 20 bikes, then ran out of fingers and toes.... The only thing they have in common is that when they broke, they never got repaired, just put there ''to be repaired someday'' But everyone knows it will never happen...

Thing is, if they're stored out of the weather they'll either be done sometime, or else be unearthed one day by someone else, so I don't have a problem with that (I'm guilty here I suppose), its when stuff is left outside to rot it bugs me. There's a Pop disintegrating under a tree 10 miles or so from here, it was quite nice when parked up 20 years or so ago, but now its beyond all hope.

In the case of those motorcycles I suppose someone is in for a great windfall when the old guy kicks the bucket then.

With this Anglia the mans intent to restore it 'one day' most likely does mean that the car is doomed, there should be an RSPCA type organisation that we can call to report classics being treated cruelly by their owners!
