Hi all, I received this email today from someone who's 500 has been nicked, and has asked for the word to be spread around.

I checked, the crime reference no. to quote with the police is CM3036487/08

----------------------------------

Hi. MY 1973 Fiat 500 was stolen from me in Slough sometime last night and I was wondering if you would be able to add its description to your site in the hope that someone might spot it, or an advert trying to sell it.

Thanks

Michael O'Donnell

I have woken up this morning to realise my Fiat has been stolen and would like to ask if everyone could keep an eye out for it, or any new Fiat 500 adverts in the next few days.

Reg no XWR943l (although the likelyhood is these plates will be removed before anyone tries to sell it)

Red/orange in colour

500F with 500L chrome window trim.

650cc engine with small twin tailpipe exhaust

126 aircooled wheels with 500 chrome trims.
(these sit slightly proud of standard 500 wheels and you can see the wheel air inlets around the chrome trim)

The outside of the car is very standard, there are a few small rust patches, but not enough to distinguish it from any other Fiat 500.

Fiat 126 steering wheel

Standard 500l Seats in the rear, but I have fitted grey cloth sports seats from a NOVA GTE (these are the standard recarro style seats fitted to many hot hatches of the early 90's

Rear parcel shelf is black vinyl and has 2 5" speakers moulded into it

Rear trim cards are also black vinyl and have 2 4" speaker moulded into them

(both the speaker installs are very subtle, but on inspection are very different from standard 500 ones.)

Kenwood stero fitted in a cage where the glove box should be (it has been removed)

An aftermarket fuel gauge crudely taped next to the speedo binaccle.

I'll put some photos up once i get my hard drive from work

The car was stolen from Slough, but it could end up anywhere I suppose

If you find any information regarding this car please contact the police, or if you see any adverts that look like it please contact me on 07985196862 and i will be able to confirm before passing it onto the police.

The reference no. is CM3036487/08

Thanks for your time.

Michael O'Donnell

Problem is that modern cars are so difficult to steal, an older car will always attract the scroats. I remember my mates Austin big 7 being taken by joy-ridiners back in the 60s. on getting it back he fitted a couple of solenoid operated bolts to the doors so they'd be trapped inside if it happemed again.
