|
|
Hi
Does anybody know of a company that might sell white wall trims for 13" tyres?
I want the narrow ones not the wide ones normally fitted to 50s cars!!
They are sometimes called narrow white walls or also white band!!
It does not matter where the company is located as I'll have to ship them over all the same. |

but tyres will be quite expensive won't they and with shipping will really be much more expensive!!
How much do you think they'd cost though? |

A few years back I saw some Pirellis 14 inch with a thin white wall about 15mm wide. I was interested in finding a set for my roadster which originally had a really nice set of Semperit cross plys with a nice raised wall bearing a thinnish white wall.
I think the Pirellis may have been 600s - I know they were imported from Indonesia so i suspect they may have even been a low end product. I didn't end up getting them as decided to finish mechanicals first and the rest as they say... |

Hi Sloresto, 14inch are quite common even over here in Malta, 13s are not!!
Ok UJ the diameter is 13 inch, I'll see the width and tyre profile later on this evening cause the car is in a lock up near my mum's house and not in my garage at home.
I think if they are not that much expensive I would buy 8 for sure cause my cousins needs a set as well for his car, probably will be the same sizes!! |

You could try North Hants Tyres
They seen to have a large stock of whitewalls in their brochure _________________ ROVER

Well depends which option is cheapest!!
Actually I was after the trim that fits between the rim and tyre but I do not want the thick ones but the narrow white bands!!
A supplier over here in Malta told me that he used to stock these sort of white band trims.
They would fit just like the wider white walls but instead of being all white where black at both ends and had a white band in the middle between 1 inch to 2 inches. |

I have a mate with a P5b who had the white trims fitted to his car.
They cut into the side walls, and he was told to use a special grease to prevent this happening.
The grease spun off when he drove and went over the paintwork.
The walls of the tyres got so bad that he had to buy new tyres and the tread was like new.
Be careful if going down this route _________________ ROVER

I have a vague memory that someone else on the forum (PACresta?) has used this kind of trim. Maybe they would have some input? Possibly via a pm if they havent seen the thread. |
