Theses are fantastic the closest I have is a balsa wood model of a rover sd1 that was made by a grandad(was into model aeroplanes) for his grandson who had one at the time. The working detail is fantastic (working locks on the doors) . But the accuracy is nothing like yours . |

Another of mine, this is my favorite as I also have two of the real ones. This one had been dropped (while in its box) so the front end had to be rebuilt, I bought an 8th scale Revel Corvette from the States just for the headlight lenses, the only other missing bits were the windscreen wipers, I got a pair from a guy who makes 8th scale models of Healey 3 litres. |
Hi Ian, did I see this on the back windowshelf of a Capri at Tatton on Saturday? looked just like it!

This truly is a very sad testament to what "progress" has done to the quality of everything around us. These old models, undoubtedly made mostly by hand, show the pride & craftsmanship of an artist. The detail is exquisite! Hard to find words to acurately describe them.
Compare to today`s computer-generated off hand junk being thrown at us from every direction. What ever happened to those artists?
Simply amazing models, thank you for sharing them with us! _________________ "The only thing I`m sure of.....is that I`m not sure of anything!" |

A few years ago, whilst working on the BBC's range of 'Doctor Who' DVDs, I tracked down this 8mm film that was taken at Shawcraft back in 1967. Amongst the many monsters they built for the programme, the film also shows work on one of their showroom models - the Ford Corsair 2000E as well as work on a model for a rather famous movie car...

Using this as a springboard, we also produced an extra all about Shawcraft and their modelwork.

Those Daleks are great, the one in the film looks just like the real thing. |

When I went to Dagenham some years ago I took many photos of their Turquoise Consul Classic with my own white one, strangely this is the only one I have now. There were also some visible on the film 'Made in Dagenham'. |

Don't know if anyone still reads this, there again maybe in thousands of years someone will look into this primitive communication method and find some interest. Well I managed to get a visit to Fords 'secret' heritage collection (so secret it has a group on Facebook). All of Fords 14 models are now on display, 6 behind perspex in a locked cabinet, the other 8 on open display in an office.
