Did what, 'modern', now go wash your mouth out with soapy water, and then stand in the corner. _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |

Hi,
Is that right you have a Minster brochure? I have been searching on behalf of a friend who's father was Craven Gilpin, the caravan maker from Beverley.
Could I ask you to photocopy the brochure and post it to me?
I will of course cover all costs. For easier contact use this email:
osmodia AT hotmail.com
He would really like to get a van of course, but they seem to have all gone!
(I did try to PM you but it would not send, "no such user" ?)
Best Regards,
John |

The Victoria road, Beverly, address for Minster is interesting, as I'm researching Royale off-shoots. Two of theses were Windsor and Fiesta Caravans, of Victoria Road, Beverley. Any connection, I wonder, or was there more than one factory on Victoria Road? |

Hi,
Yes, it was Victoria Road.
Here is a bit I found on a Norwegion site, rather crudly translated by Google:
"MINSTER: English camper established 1969 by Craven Gilpin who had been sales manager at Astral. The production was the first year of six carriages of the week. The Nazis had series designation Huntsman and model year 1971 program consisted of three editions 10, at 3.13 metres as well as 12 and 14, at prices between 377 and 495 pounds. Assuming this year in use new production facilities. Year 1973 had risen to 2000 units. 1979 was produkjsonen distributed on models 12 and 14, which was delivered in multiple equipment variants. This was also the last year freight cars were produced."
Not quite sure what is meant by Freight cars!
