Kind of following on from the 2 other topics on here, would anyone considered putting on a show? Has anyone done it and what was it like?

I think Brian has plenty of experience in that area maybe he can put over some of the pro's and con's.

Personally no, I wouldn't. I think it takes a certain degree of organisational skills, patience, and willingness to placate the health and safety mob that I simply don't possess.

if it was just a case of setting a date for a bunch of people to meet up at a pub, and maybe go for a run afterwards, then that'd be ok, but a properly organised bash, with paying visitors, would need far more organising than I could ever find time for

I've organised concerts in the past, and that was a lot of fun. Would I put on a car show now? No, I dont think so, unless I got paid for it beforehand. Then, with pleasure!

Are you asking if just a single individual would be willing to organise an event?
I personally think it's a lot for one person to take on. Most or all of the events that I've attended in the past have had more than one organiser.

I love attending shows & events, but wouldn't want to get involved behind the scenes for fear of being let down/letting down.

I might consider co-organising, but you'd need two or three others with you for throwing ideas around. The secret to a good show is originality.
Novelty attractions & one-offs can go down well, too.
