I am about to buy a 1970 Morris 1000 4-door. I have noticed that the Morris's wheels are chrome and the centre cap is red with the embossed 'M' painted in white. I have never seen red caps on a Morris before.

Can someone enlighten me on this issue? Has anyone got any info on this type of car?

I've only ever seen silver hubcaps on a Minor, the 'M' isn't usually painted at all (at least on UK cars....)

Usually the chrome goes rusty on the M on Minor hubcaps so I suspect that is what has happened here and a previous owner has painted the rusty bits.
