Citroen used the chevrons on their logo because they started making helical gears _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

| Rovers logo came as a little joke. The word Rover means wanderer or seafarer, so they chose a viking, which later became a vikings head, then a longship.... |

I am sure they started making parts for guns if not complete weapons. _________________ 1964 International Harvester |

| I think that you are correct there, DH. We always used to call the Royal Oilfields back in the day! |

Volv were originally owned by the SKF bearing company and the name is the Latin for 'to roll' That is the beginning and end of my knowledge of the classics
Saab use the initials of the company for their name. Pity; I would love to see a badge saying 'Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget' across the radiator of a 96 That also explains the earlier badge, it looks like a head-on view of a propellor aeroplane.

The manufacturers of the Heinkell and Messerschmitt micro cars were aircraft manufacturers, as were Mitsubishi.
Kawasaki heavy industries made ships and aircraft! |

Everytime I hear Saab I get the picture in my mind of a Arab streaking figure on camel.
Listening to too much of Spike Milligan.

Another aircraft engine manufacturer was BMW - their logo represents the sky seen through a propellor.
This website gives a history of virtually every makers name and logo.
