Yet more fresh finds from France and forumAuto! This week there are one or two I can't recognise?
first up a Vauxhall 101
Followed by a pretty sound and desirable VW camper.
A couple of Peugeot 203's followed by an older commercial variant.
This one's a mystery to me but I quite like it!

Charge Utile to the rescue again I'm pretty certain it is a Citroen, possibly a 23RU. French Dinky Toys did a breakdown truck version if you don't fancy taking on a 1:1 scale model

The truck is definitely a Citroen, could possibly be a 55.I think the number probably relates to the carrying capacity.
The BMW is neat, but it's not an Isetta. It is in fact the 600 version. This had a single door on the right(in addition to the front one) and could seat 4 people.
I don't believe they were ever exported to countries which drive on the left,as I've never seen one with the door on the left side.
BTW,anyone notice the racing mirror on the pop?Now there's optimism for you |

Yes you're right the BMW does appear to be a 600 now I look at it.
What amazes me is not only the quantity but also the quality and rarity of some of these vehicles in France.
I'm sure over in the UK most of these vehicles would have been salvaged, or picked clean for spares, or worse vandalised and scrapped!

I'm amazed the condition the chrome is in!The hubcaps and bumpers on the RO80, for instance, look in excellent condition.I wonder what the undersides of these cars look like though, having sat in rotting leaves for years. Is that blue car behind the RO80 a Lancia Fulvia?I always considered them to be very good looking cars.
And what is that car to the right(left in the pic)of the jaguar?An early(mid60's)Isuzu Bellel?Or a Nissan,perhaps?
You can just spot the taillight of a BMW 1500/1600 in front of the Jag.A "58 Chev in the background.Like you said, why has nobody taken them home? |

Btw,that Vauxhall 101,isn't that a VX 4/90?(Grille,hubcap emblems,side stripe).Must be a pretty rare beast,even in UK? |

I think the car to the left in the picture is a French Simca, I still see a few around here they are slightly different to the UK simcas
The Jaguar is a MK1 quite a lot rarer than the MK11 _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com
