I left the house at 6.00am to ensure I missed the traffic. I went via the M8 to Edinburgh then the A720 by-pass before joining the A68 to get to Thirlestane Castle. A journey of 79 miles which was covered in 1 hour 40 minutes going and 1 hour 50 minutes return.

The standard of cars is getting better every year and when I saw the competition I thought Tilly was going home empty handed today. The 1932 Rover 12hp Pilot was trailered in and looks stunning with its glossy black paintwork.

The show is a self judging show where the contestants choose a car in each category.

I was very surprized to learn that Tilly had for the sixth time in a row won her catagory and I am now the owner of the largest collection of SARR tankards in the world Shocked

1947 16hp Saloon (six light)

1947 12hp Tourer

P4 Class Winner and Car of the Show

1950 75 Cyclops

My mates Burgandy P5B coupe won the Class plus the Cambodia Cup for the fourth time in a row. Unfortunately the cars were so close together that taking a picture was not really possible. This is his car from last years Rally

1965 P5 3 litre

Class winner for the P6 Class was this Green 3500S

Last year for the first time the comittee decided to allow Wolseleys into the show and there were 2 cars entered.....This year they certainly put on an excellent display

This lovely 15/50 was class winner

I have tried on several occasions to video Tilly whilst driving, but with old fashioned steering, gear changing and brakes it really is not very safe Shocked

Yesterday when I came to the castle grounds I had another attempt and the results are below

Tilly arrives at Thirlstane Castle on youtube

Thanks for posting them 47p2, did my old heart good just to see em' , no really old ones though?
A member of our group (in his 80s) has a fabric bodied late 20s Rover Nine, totally original (I think). Belonged to his father and must have been in the family from new. It may be for sale.

Hi 47P2,

Congrats on the award.

Looks like a really good turn out of top notch cars. Was that you playing oldies from MP3 through your HMV radio or did you add the music after filming?

I should be at Thirlestane tomorrow. I just hope we get as good weather as you did.

Peter

Hi Peter, Thirlstane is a great place for this sort of event, we had wonderful weather last weekend and from what I know the forecast is good this weekend. I only wish I could be in two places at the one time Crying or Very sad

The Radiomobile 100 has modern technology inside and it is possible to play the MP3 through it.

In the clip I it was playing away in the background, next time I will turn it down a little so that the exhaust note can be heard Confused
