Bjorn in Finland sent over this photo, wondering if anyone can identify the model of Austin shown here. To my eyes it looks like it could be a conversion of a saloon car maybe? curiously the company name on the door, Stapeley Self Drive, is based not far from here yet I've not seen this at any shows locally.
"Dear Sir;
May I bother you with following question?
In a german wall calender I have a picture of an Austin pickup said to be 1929. The picture is taken outside "Deutsches Automuseum". They say the truck is not in their collection. Stapeley Self Drive has not answered my enquiry. Also the calender maker seems to be unreachable.
I would be very interested to get some information about the truck, such as pictures from front, back and right side and whatever. Also where the restored truck coud be.
The reason is that I am building model cars, and the Austin interests me much. My last was a Büssing truck 1903. 27 cm long.
Yourrs sincerely
Björn Fagerstedt"
