Hopefully one of the Oz membership may be able to shed some light on this question that Shane sent in. He's wondering if A30s were built in NSW, or assembled from knocked-down kits of parts:
"Hi
I was wondering whether you would be abale to confirm as to whether any Austin A30's were actually built in Australia at the BMC plant at Zetland in NSW.
If not were some imported in knocked down form and assembled there ?
I have a 1955 A30 4 door sedan and there is no BMC Australia ID plate on it, but it does have a little plate with "Made in England" on it.
Were they all fully imported ?
I used to have a 1955 series 2 Morris Minor and this did have the BMC Australia ID plate on it.
thanks so much in anticipation of your advice
Shane"
thanks, Rick _________________ Rick - Admin
