Going home by Dire Straits...........Great instrumental.
Easy rider by the Byrds....from the film starring Peter Fonda...cult 60s.
All shook up.....Billy Joel.....from Honeymoon in Vegas.....In my opinion the best ever version of All shook up.......on you tube as well. Cool Cool

Top of the list has to be Woodstock... Laughing

I thought The Blues Brothers was excellent.

Easy Rider has a great soundtrack.

I enjoyed the soundtrack to the 2 or 3 part 80's TV film 'Edge Of Darkness' - one of Clapton's better moments.

Also, the soundtrack to the Walter Hill's movie Warriors is marvellous. The incidental themes for the gang are composed by Barry De Vorzon & Joe Walsh.

In my opinion, Quentin Tarantino is a little too far up his own butt, but his choice of music for his films is inspired.

Nothing like a piece of classical music to make a film memorable.

I am inclined to agree.

Some claim Two Lane Blacktop, Cannonball Run or Vanishing Point, others may mention California Kid, Gone In 60 Seconds or Hot Rod, but AG was an instant classic.

Not much mention of Monte Carlo Or Bust, though...

My other favourite was Gumball Rally.

My favourite has to be Trainspotting, great music that works with the film, rather than just being incidental, its the only sound track I have ever bought, combination of some oldies and what were contemporary artists;

"Lust for Life" - Iggy Pop
"Carmen Suite No.2" - Georges Bizet
"Deep Blue Day" - Brian Eno
"Trainspotting" - Primal Scream
"Temptation" - Heaven 17
"Atomic" - Sleeper
"Temptation" - New Order
"Nightclubbing" - Iggy Pop
"Sing" - Blur
"Perfect Day" - Lou Reed
"Dark and Long (Dark Train)" - Underworld
"Think About the Way" - Frisco Vs. Ice MC
"Mile End" - Pulp
"For What You Dream Of" (Full-on Renaissance Mix) - Bedrock featuring KYO
" – 2:1" – Elastica
"Hertzlich Tut Mich Verlangan" - Gabor Lehotka
"Two Little Boys" - Ewen Bremner
"A Final Hit" - Leftfield
"Statuesque" - Sleeper
"Born Slippy .NUXX" - Underworld
"Closet Romantic" - Damon Albarn

motors and music? Sorcerer, with soundtrack by Tangerine Dream...
i've a concept in mind for a film with no dialogue, only music and incidental sounds. and yes Tarantino has a highly inflated ego IMHO. his films are striking but not exceptional.
the film "the last run" with George C Scott about the Mafia getaway driver lured into a doublecross with a marvelous BMW costar.... don't recall the music but it seemed to work.
and if nothing else, THIS is a self preservation society!
get a move on mate!
