And this... what the 60s was all about. I didn't understand it either, perhaps one has to be "high."

This one was pretty good as well, problem was... Cassette players were not really an option, even if you did have a car quiet enough to be able to hear it. We had to wait until the 70s to really enjoy music of choice.
This one was good driving music:

UJ, was that the Ace, or the one in Kent, close to the delightfully named 'Death Hill?'

Retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be UK, the memsahib has deserted me and gone off to college for a week leaving me to fend for myself. I drove the special all the way over to Birchington, in the blazing sun, hoping to get some Moule for my supper, they were fresh out… so I had to make do with oysters. Just washed them down with a very passable Muscadet and I’m off down to the garden pond to discuss the political situation with my frog, Arnold, over a liqueur or two.
I’m mindful of the fact that I may never, ever, earn any money again and with the total chaos in this country, and indeed the world, I’m just hoping what I’ve got will last out. The doc’s already put me on a diet, next week he may tell me never to drink again so I’ve got to make the most of it.

What UK doesnt realise is that we dont have time to work...
pigtin, I seem to remember that there was a café called the Sun, or something similar, but it may possibly have been the Ace. I couldnt possibly imagine that record racing was confined just to the one place. I'll try to check if I can remember something for more than two seconds... |

The one I remember was Johnsons near Brands Hatch? but I was into cars by the time "record" racing started. |

good taste in cars, pigtin, Its a ''suicide'' Lincoln Continental. Hard to see from the video, but I think a '61-'63.
Remember that these cafés were well out of my area... |

The idea of us lay-abouts viewing hundreds of videos to find appropriate 60s music is an interesting one but not quite the reality.
We may be old and grey but haven't completely forgotten the songs we enjoyed (they're still in our MP3 collections ) so it's very easy and quick to just search YouTube for the titles we "remembered".

I personally would just like to see a list.
If the reader doesn't know the tune, they can always do a YouTube search themselves.
I've seen far more bad/horrible/stupid/mind-numbing videos on YouTube than I have good ones. _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!
