The split screen bus is my mate Darrens, he likes the ratty look but the bus is actually fully restored and underneath is like brand new.

My bus was parked about three down from that one [green over green].

The little red and white caravan belongs to Neil who sometimes gets on here, he had it up for sale at £2100.00 though don't quote me.

Hi Brian,

Nice to find someone else on the forum that haunts my neck of the woods. I was fascinated by your friend Darren's VW as it seemed to have had the rust stabilized and lacquered, while the interior was in excellent nick. Great idea, makes for a really novel and interesting exhibit... Did wonder which engine it was powered by?

Don.

Hi Don

Darren spent a fortune and over a year getting the bus roadworthy, the underside is like new [resprayed the correct colours] the interiors almost complete and the body work topside is as he found it.

In the Volkswagen fraternity it's quite common to have "Rat Look" buses, trying to keep as much of the original paint/patina as possible. We do have a lot of fully restored, immaculate finished buses of which Darrens could be if he wanted but at least with his you can see what your getting with know hidden surprises.

Engines a bit larger than original though Wink
