We went along to the Audlem Transport Festival in the A55 yesterday. meeting up with Buzzy who'd got his Ford truck readied up only the night before. Firstly the vehicles gather in nearby Hankelow village, then at 12.30 there was a leisurely convoy down the hill into Audlem itself, where the vehicles park up once more, for the remainder of the day. All in all an enjoyable day out, one bonus being a fine aerial display by a late model Spitfire.

No problemo, there were quite a few 60s/70s vehicles there too, which may not be evident in this selection of piccies, but I didn't photograph too many of them for some reason, I think its the older stuff that tends to catch my eye nowadays!

Cheers Rick! I dont think that I've seen one of those in the flesh since the late '60's, and that had either a Connie or Interceptor motor fitted, which used to be relatively common.... Laughing

Dad tells me that he had a convertible Bond 3 wheeler in the early 1960s, but the engine dropped out while he was stopped at a crossing, so I think it was disposed of shortly after Smile

In a way, that doesnt surprise me in the least. Your Dad would probably confirm this, but the front wheel used to turn 90 degrees left, and 90 degrees right, which must have stressed the steering parts!

Hi

Wasn't there another min car there, a Berkley or similar, made by the caravan company, that was quite a rare machine!

Cheers

Yup there was a green Berkeley that I've got a pic of, and also a V8-powered Reliant Robin that I forgot to photograph

Buzzy, you little Bee... Laughing You've got me all confused now! Earlier, i was convinced that it was a Bond that my mate had that was fitted with a Connie motor, now I'm wondering if I've not mixed up two cars, and it was really a Berkeley T60... Embarassed
