Hi there my name is Trish and I joined this forum to share my interest in Vintage Caravans. I am also a member of the Vintage Caravan forum in Australia as membername: "lacem" http://vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/

I recently purchased a Fairholme Caravan and wish to restore it to its former glory.
Hopefully I can find some more information about its features and see photos of others, to give me some ideas!
I bought the van of a person who had spotted it going to rot in someones backyard. Apparently the person had filled it in with their family belongings and relocated from U.K. to Australia.
I look forward to chatting with members and any information on Fairholme's would be appreciated as I can't really find out much on Google so far!
Cheers,
Trish Cool

Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum!

There are some nice features on your van, the leaded glass and beamed roof, for example. Though I dont visit this section much, I am looking forward to seeing your progress on the resto.

Will you be doing everything yourself?

Thanks Uncle Joe for the welcome. I will do what I can on the van and my husband Dave is a cabinet maker so he can do the woodwork.

The English vans have some great features and cosy homely touches.
When the van is finished I plan to take it on the meets that our Vintage Caravan club has. Our members go so far as to only use items in the van from the era it was made...eg. a 1960's toaster/kettle. So I am starting to collect iconic English things for my van and bring a touch of England to the meets! If anyone here can think of anything that should be included, then let me know...
Cheers,
Trish.

Brian, very thoughtfully, sent me lots of pics and plans on the Fairholme Range. I have added them to my own collection and posted them on Photo Bucket (an online photo album). I hope they come in handy to someone as they have me!
Cheers,
Trish.

Hi there,

The following paint colours are specified for the van, does anyone have colourcharts of these? Or know where I can get any info?
Interior: I.C.I. Warm Lilac.
Outside: I.C.I. Coachpaint in Pearl and Dove grey.

Cheers,
Trish.
