I have been trying all summer to repaint my Landcrab in original cellulose. 3 times I prepped and painted it, and 3 times the weather turned at the wrong moment so despite using anti bloom thinners the finish was not good. (also the garage being only 25 feet from a river didn't help)
Eventually I have had to bow to the inevitable and purchased 2 pack, donned the cover all suit, gloves and breathing mask and painted it. Even without buffing it now shines like a b..... mirror - making it look unreal. if i had used to 2k in the first place i could have saved myself about £300 in wasted paint
Think the local rat population in the garage has suffered casualties from the 2k fumes, so it isn't all bad news! |

There was a picture of it with shabby paintwork posted when I first joined Rick. Will finish polishing it and then take some pics - probably early next week. This is a Morris landcrab which won best Morris in show at last years national show - mind you, there were only 2 Morris ones there!! Someone from the club told me there are only 46 known Morris 1800's surviving. There are loads of Austins, and even more Wolseleys - ironic as there were fewest of the Wolseley made, but people want those as they have a more luxurious interior. |

Yes, saw that one Rick. They never were much good so the river was probably the best place for it! haven't forgotten that you want a pic of my landcrab, but busy moving flat at the moment so even i haven't seen the car for 2 weeks. Move nearly finished now, then contents of one of my garages needs moving to another one I have, then possibly I may be able to get around to driving cars again. The Minor will be in a real huff and refuse to start as I haven't seen that one for 4 weeks now. It is a temperamental *** - most definitely female!!!! |
