Since my last posting, I have discovered the manufacturer of this van. I must say, I am amazed by the answer, but also that at least one forum member didnt recognise it.... Shocked

Believe it or not, its a Volvo! It was sold as an accessory in 1957 only.

Which explains the lack of design! I'm hoping to get a photo of it behind a PV....

I cant wait for BrianM to see this topic!

I remember seeing one of these in the late 60's whilst en-route to the North Cape. I remember it because I thought it was some "home-made" design and was suprised to find it had been made by Volvo.
There is probably an old transparency slide photo of it among the thousands in boxes in the store room.

UJ - very interesting.

I know exactly why Volvo produced a caravan with all the style of a toilet block.

All their designers were too busy in 1957 making subtle improvements to the Amazon to turn it into the beautiful car those of us with taste revere to this day.

Go on - prove me wrong......
