To save doing the quite awkward and messy job of changing the oil filter element on the Austin A60 I have now fitted an oil filter conversion kit so it now takes a canister type screw on oil filter. Hopefully this will make the job much easier . |

I did this to my Series 2 Morris Oxford, it was such a blessing; it made changing the oil a pleasure instead of a chore. _________________ To Hell with ambition, it drives a man mad, I can scarcely wake up to be fed. |

The conversion kit is quite straightforward to fit but it will still be a lot easier to change the filter from underneath as there is now no rubber oil seal ring to hold in place . I found keeping the oil seal in place while tightening up the canister the most difficult part the job with the old filter. It could be done from above but it means bending over a long way under the bonnet .I think it makes things a lot easier if the o/s/f wheel is removed when working on the oil filter from underneath .I will try to get a good photo of it but at the moment it is raining heavy and the car is outside .

Hi Rick
As you can see the screw on oil filter is a lot more accessible than the old one
