I do fancy the idea of a run over to France, or Portugal, Spain etc, perhaps when young Harley has grown up and is walking about. I'd have to make my mind up about what old car would be suitable, and then whether to go on one of these pre-organised jollies, or plot our own route and follow our noses. Any seasoned classic car tourists have any opinions on the matter?

a pal of mine many years ago did a pan-European trip, in his upright Ford Prefect (fitted at the time with Ballamy independent front suspension if I remember correctly), seems like he made it there and back ok, bar a problem with the export water pump that he'd fitted for the trip.

Its certainly something I'd look at doing in the next few years, before young 'un gets involved with schooling and other such delights. Not sure how erindoors would react to doing several thousand miles in creaky old motor though - something like a Mk7 Jaguar might be a different matter Wink

You can just see my farmhouse albeit a bit blurred and the land behind it Cool

Its a lovely area full of lakes, mountains and forests
